The San Francisco Film Society runs the San Francisco International Film Festival and was first held in December of 1957. It is the longest-running film festival in the Americas showcasing more than 200+ films over the course of 15 days. For the 49th year hosting this festival The San Francisco Film Society wanted to develop a trailer that could represent the festival quickly on television as well as at the beginning of each film in the theatre. |

The graphic system which was established at Method comprised of visual circles layed on top of black and white still imagery. The circles in this animation represent and comprise of the actual footage thats being used in the festival. Painstakingly each frame was rotoscoped and then reanimated graphically with the circles that are comprised of the established brand. The animated circles are then paced on top of urban settings that representing San Francisco while at the same time mimic the established brand. Friends/Collaborators: Robert Murdock, Roger Scott, Method, Odopod. |
