These records are part of a ongoing series exploring field recording in and around San Francisco. 871 Records wanted to represent these recordings with visual treatments that mimic the recordings contained in these recordings. 871 Records is an independent record label located in San Francisco and was founded in 2000. | |
Ambient sounds are used throughout these recordings and are reminiscent of San Francisco's foggy weather and misty hillsides. Reverberation, pattern, shape, and color are primary components of this design. It was very important the designs on these covers mimicked the recordings contained within them. We will hopefully be providing audio samples of these recordings shortly on our website. | |
